Accessible library

A library for all means access for all

Bringing the library to you, making our buildings accessible, specialist equipment, resources and information, plus activities and events.

Home library service

Free for people with restricted mobility and carers who have no other way to use the library.

The Home Library Service can bring books (including large print), talking books, DVDs and CDs to your door.

  • Library staff or volunteers will visit to discuss your reading needs and you can request specific titles
  • Roughly every 3 weeks on a prearranged regular rota your loans will be dropped off and collected

All library staff and volunteers have undertaken an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB) and they all carry identification so you can be confident they are genuine.
